WHAT IS SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE?

You might have heard the term “single origin” thrown around and used very broadly, but in our case, it brings forth a sense of place through tasting notes. Simply put, single origin beans come from a specific country, region, microclimate, and can sometimes be traced all the way down to even a specific lot. Single origin beans showcase the distinctive flavors of carefully grown coffee, which come forward with the perfect roasting profile.

WHAT ABOUT SPECIALTY GRADE?

“Specialty coffee can only occur when all of those involved in the coffee value chain work in harmony and maintain a keen focus on standards and excellence from start to finish. […]”

 

Specialty coffee is part of the prime selection of the worlds coffee stock. Earning the label “specialty grade” is no easy feat. The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has set in place rigorous standards that must be met, some of which include; minimal bean defects, ripeness, moisture percentage ranges, and the coffee must have at least one unique attribute in either its taste, aroma, body and/or acidity.

PALMERA ROAST

Origin: Costa Rica - Tarrazú
Altitude: 5000ft +
Bean: Single origin, 100% Arabica

This spectacular coffee is our favorite choice from Costa Rica, a rich, diverse country that offers some of the most varied microclimates in the Central America region. Known for offering some of the world's best coffees Costa Rica is a premium option among our selection. It has a perfect blend of floral aroma and sweet brown sugar sweetness that combines in an exotic tasting cup.

Cupping Notes: Nuts, Brown sugar, floral aromas, citrus and tropical fruit.

 

 


MEDIUM ROAST

Origin: Guatemala - Eastern Highlands

Altitude: 4500 - 5000ft
Bean: Single origin, 100% Arabica


Rich, diverse and roasted to perfection, this coffee is grown in Guatemala’s Eastern highlands featuring a naturally occurring highly-mineralized soil. The high altitude helps create a balanced combination of citrus flavors, red fruits and a touch of chocolate, all rounded up in a uniquely rich aroma.

Cupping notes: Milk chocolate, soft citrus and red fruit. Sparkling acidity.

DARK ROAST

Origin: Colombia - Huila
Altitude: 4000 - 5000ft
Bean: Single origin, 100% Arabica

Our dark roast features a washed and sun dried process, which helps develop and highlight unique notes of caramel, dark chocolate and nuts. These flavors are achieved by taking advantage of the caramelization process during roasting. Enjoy a cup of coffee with low acidity and a smooth body that is sure to please!

Cupping Notes: Caramel, Dark Chocolate, Nuts. Low acidity.

DECAF

Origin: Guatemala
Altitude: 4,000ft +
Bean: Single origin, 100% Arabica


Ideal for those who want to enjoy a great tasting cup without the kick of caffeine. Perfectly balanced with a clean finish. This coffee is sourced from Guatemala’s most prominent coffee growing region and delivers great flavor, full body and sweetness

Cupping notes: Cocoa, black currant, honey. Smooth and balanced.
